We are looking for an experienced and competitive Business Development Lead, Courier Sales to join our team to expand our reach in the U.S. last-mile logistics market. With ambitious growth goals, we’re looking for someone to bring their zeal for consultative selling to foster a pipeline of delivery service providers that fit into the Swyft vision and ecosystem. Keen on leading through action, our Business Development Lead will develop a Marketplace team that takes the cake when it comes to presenting win-win solutions. Our Business Development Lead thrives in an ambiguous environment and takes pride in scaling within a high-growth environment.
Here’s how you’ll make an impact:
- Actively source and warm a pipeline of delivery service partners (DSPs) that enable Swyft to provide next day delivery at affordable rates to our merchants
- Conduct cold outreach to potential DSPs to maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities
- Establish trusted relationships with key external stakeholders to move potential DSPs through the pipeline
- Devise effective DSP acquisition strategies and campaigns to grow our network of regional DSPs
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop proposals that speak to the DSP’s needs, concerns, and business objectives
- Arrange for DSPs to meet with the Director of Marketplace to finalize partnership details
- Lead the onboarding of DSPs into the Swyft ecosystem and work cross-functionally to manage pain points and opportunities for improvement
- Recruit and develop a team of high performing Business Development Specialists to enable Swyft to operate across the U.S.
- Collaborate with the Director of Marketplace to establish motivating incentive and performance management plans for the Marketplace team
- Provide support to the Operations team, as needed
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
What you bring to the team:
- Completion of a university degree or a college certificate or diploma
- At least 5 years of progressive experience within the U.S. logistics industry or last-mile couriers; startup experience is a strong asset
- At least 3 years of proven experience exceeding sales targets
- Effective negotiation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders as a trusted partner
- The ability to solve problems independently with the wisdom to work collaboratively
- A self-starter who brings their curiosity for learning and ability to remain adaptable in a high-growth environment
